1-2 De Aya Sofia Moskee. (532-537 A.D.) Gebouwd in 536 na Chr., gebouwd als Byzantijnse domkerk. Door de Osmanen in een moskee veranderd. Sinds 1934 een museum. De Aya Sofia Moskee. 'kerk der goddelijke wijsheid' (Haghia Sophia), bevond zich in het centrum van het oude Byzantium en kenmerkt zich door de enorme koepel. 3 De Blauwe Moskee of Sultan Ahmet Moskee. De enige moskee ter wereld met zes minaretten. De grootste moskee van de stad dankt zijn naam aan de duizenden blauwe tegeltjes waarmee de moskee van binnen bekleed is.
